“ Literally everything was amazing! I had the whole snapper and I was terrified because I didn't want the head on my fish. The fish was so damn good I forgot about the head. It was flavorful and came right off the bone. It was fried perfectly. It was light and airy but crispy. We got the wings as an appetizer. It was the best bbq wings. They taste like honey bbq and I am a hard judge of bbq wings. Chef's kiss for the fish rice and peas. The owner is so personable and cares about your experience. When we came in he said welcome home and it made us feel right at home. The music great ... This is a must eat place. ”
“ I've been meaning to come here several times now, and I finally made it. This isn't just a fish house. This is awesome fried chicken. I've been looking for really good fried chicken in Playa but couldn't find it until now. The crisp is perfect, and the flavor is not too greasy. Juicy, tender inside. I'm telling you this is some of the best fried chicken. I've ever had. The guacamole delicious that chunky, instead of that puree you get sometimes, you could eat it with a fork, loved it. Also, I love the wings, h my gosh, are you kidding me? They're fresh habinaro salsa, love it, it's that vinegary kind of base I like, can't say enough about this place. Will I be back? Oh, yeah, it's our new chicken fix. ”
“ A little gem of a spot just off of 5th Ave. We were there on a Friday night and the live reggae band playing was amazing, and the the crowd was dancing in the streets blocking traffic. Now the owner (Marvin) is from Toronto, so you know he's going to do it right. Great spot to have a cold beer and nibble on some coconut shrimps with a side of Mac and Cheese!! don't miss out on this spot!! ”
“ Felt like I was in Jamaica! Staff took great care of us. Atmosphere and music were great. Food was greater! Escovitch on the snapper was sooooo flavorful! Curry was well spiced. Fried chicken at neighboring table looked amazing and made me want to add on but I got sooo full. Will definitely eat here again. ”
“ Maybe the best Jamaican food I've had. And I'm a big fan. The jerk chicken had so much flavor and the coconut rice and beans was delicious. The coleslaw was top 3 I've ever had. The owner is originally from the island and his recipes are legit. Absolutely recommend and there's a great band on Friday nights. ”
“ Highly recommend. Was able to stop by and do a takeaway order. The curry chicken was fantastic and a must order. Half jerk chicken and a side of Mac and cheese and it could have probably fed four people and not two that I ordered for. Very nice servers and packaged everything up great. Worth a visit for sure. ”
“ We visited this restaurant on a Thursday and happened to stumble upon it by chance. The menu immediately caught our attention, they weren’t open yet but we waited the extra 30 minutes and were so glad we did! The food was absolutely delicious—by far the best meal we had during our five days in Mexico. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the owner was incredibly welcoming. He took the time to come over, chat with us, and make sure we were enjoying everything. The dishes were packed with flavor, the portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend anyone in the Playa del Carmen area to stop by and check this place out. You won’t be disappointed! ”
